What local families say
Parents often tell us that the biggest change is how their child feels about learning. Here are a few stories from families in Reading, Wokingham, Maidenhead and Bracknell.
The initial meeting between my son and Mark was extremely good and reassuring for my son who like most 15 year old boys was not entirely sold on having a tutor. He talked with my son at the right level and made him feel it was the right thing for him. The tutor we have found is excellent and really understands my son.Charlotte D - Reading
The choice of a good tutor who understands the needs of my daughter and is committed to help her in every possible way.Tanzeela A.
My daughter is very happy and comfortable with her tutor. She is punctual and really a lovely person. We could not have chosen any better. thank youMichael J.
The personal touch in listening understanding and meeting your child's needs and matching the right skillset in terms of finding the right tutorSunita K.
My son has been tutored for only a few weeks and he is already finding the sessions have helped by improving his grade in a recent mock maths exam. His comments are that his tutor explains concepts very well and he has identified the areas my sons finds particularly difficult. It is also very convenient to have the sessions at our home.Deirdre L.
My daughter passed her GCSE maths. Felipe was a wonderful tutor, and was great with her. Very reliable and prompt and such a nice guy.Emma B.
Tutoring for All Ages, Levels & Subjects
We support learners from primary school to A level across core subjects, 11+ and entrance exams, and a wide range of specialist areas. GCSE core subjects are a major focus, and we also help with specialist subjects that can be harder to source locally.
Maths
Maths Tutoring
We tutor more Maths than any other subject here in Cambridge. One-to-one tutoring really lends itself to learning Maths, with a specialist and carefully selected tutor able to go back to the foundations, or what we call “building blocks”, so that the current Maths being worked on becomes more easily understood. For Maths tutoring we often talk about Method and Care. Maths is about being secure on the method, but then taking care to not lose your way or to lose marks unnecessarily come exam time. We provide tutoring services for a wide range of Maths students, from Primary through to GCSE and A-Level and adult learners too.

Sciences

LOCAL TUTORS FOR Special Educational Needs
Students with Special Educational Needs can find the classroom a challenging and confusing environment. Every child must be given the opportunity to fulfil their potential and we apply this core belief with every one of our students.
When working with students with Special Educational Needs we ensure we assign a tutor with the skills, personal qualities and passion to identify the students learning style and academic needs and they will personalise the lessons for the individual. We often find that a tailored approach in a one-to-one environment helps the student to progress.
A student’s needs will vary depending on the degree to which their learning is impacted. At Tutor Doctor we teach the individual rather than the condition.
We have experience of working with children with Dyslexia, Autism, ADD and ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities, Auditory and Visual Processing Disorders and other challenges.
